ROBIN BOYD – AIA AWARD WINNERS 2017 OPEN DAY

An annual event we look forward to.

As usual, we were very impressed with this year’s winners.  The projects this year shows with a high level of details and thought. There is a consistent approach towards the seamless integration of the courtyard and indoor spaces.  Small spaces were utilised well with interesting details.

There were definitely a few favorites!

MELBOURNE DESIGN AWARDS – SHORTLISTED!

It turns out that great things come in threes. We are very happy to announce that a third Rptecture project has been shortlisted within the 2017 Melbourne Design Awards.

As one of the retail designers for Sandwich Chefs Victoria, we are thrilled to share that the Westfield Doncaster project has been shortlisted within these Melbourne based awards.

This project was created in collaboration with Matt John of the ‘The Anatomy’ – the amazing brand / graphic designer of Sandwich Chefs Australia. Congratulations to all involved!

BARANGAROO

On a recent business trip to Sydney, Rptecture Architect David was venturing around the newly re-developed suburb of Barangaroo.

Being in close proximity to the city, Barangaroo is located at the southern end of the Harbour bridge.

Redevelopment of this suburb began in 2012, and is still underway – hence making it an extremely exciting area for architectural lovers like us.

MELBOURNE DESIGN AWARDS – SHORTLISTED!

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that yet another one of our projects, Anna Jo Medical Beauty, has been shortlisted within the 2017 Melbourne Design Awards.

Having only opened in December 2016, Anna Jo Medical Beauty is the new kid on the Box Hill ‘block’.

Congratulations to everyone involved!

MUSEUM OF NEW AND OLD ART: MONA

Resident architect Andy recently went to the DARK MOFO art festival, held by the infamous MONA museum in Tasmania.

In its fourth year of operation, this arts based festival is unlike any other in Australia.

Spanning over the entirety of the weekend – the festival is extremely immersive, and has garnered immense support from the State government.

Rptecture Architects are excited to announce that our project Shukufuku Japanese Bento has been shortlisted within the 2017 Melbourne Design Awards.

The winners are announced on the 20.07.17 – so watch this space for updates!

RP TRAVELS: ELENI IN JAPAN

Our talented Interior Designer, Eleni, recently embarked on a fun-filled Japanese adventure. Visiting Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima, and more.

Pictured above, is a photo taken by Eleni in the Tokyo borough of Ginza – infamous for its upmarket shopping, dining and entertainment.

Having caught the travel bug a long time ago, Eleni is already planning her next trip – England!

This image was snapped early this morning whilst on site for a new and exciting project that is currently in construction.

Taken from the third story of the site – this project is one which we are all eager and excited to complete.

There’s nothing better than seeing a design come to life.

PARIS AWARDS PRESENTATION CEREMONY

Rptecture Director, Vincent, has travelled halfway across the globe for the Prix Versailles Awards Presentation Ceremony. Arriving in Paris, France earlier this week, Vincent has been soaking up all of the beautiful architecture, culture and of course, food. Pictured above is Vincent accepting an award from world renown, michelin star French chef Guy Savoy. Rptecture Architects would like to extend our gratitude to the wonderful clients of the winning project, which picked up not one, but two awards – Shukufuku Japanese Bento.

VAN GOGH AND THE SEASONS

The entire Rptecture team has been eager to visit and experience the current Van Gogh exhibition currently on show at the National Gallery of Victoria. The display has been divided into 4 sections with one representing each season of the year – reflecting the backdrops to Van Gogh’s turbulent life.

We would all recommend seeing the exhibition before it leaves town!

2017 NATIONAL ARCHITECTS CONFERENCE

Rptecture director, Vincent, and two of our amazing architects, David and Andy, made the quick trip over to Sydney to attend the 2017 National Architects Conference. Held every year at the start of May, the theme for this year is PRAXIS: Process. Propositions. Productions. Having thoroughly enjoyed the conference, Vincent, David and Andy have all returned to Melbourne feeling, enlightened, inspired and invigorated.

RP-TRAVELS: ANDY IN SOUTH EAST ASIA

With the sudden influx of cold weather this week, the team has been thinking back to all of our amazing summer holiday adventures. The above photo was taken in Thailand by our amazing graduate architect / photographer Andy. Over the summer Andy, spent time exploring Myanmar (Burma) and Thailand. Backpacking between the two countries, Andy spent time experiencing and appreciating the culture, art and cuisines of South East Asia.

PRIX VERSAILLES AWARDS – WIN!

Rptecture is thrilled to announce that Shukufuku Japanese Bento has won the Resturant Interior Category within the South Asia and Pacific region for the Prix Versailles 2017 Awards. Based in Paris, France, Prix Versailles are the world architectural awards for Stores, Hotels, and Restaurants. Boasting a jury of renown Architects, Fashion Designers, and influencers, the Prix recognizes the most remarkable structures, in terms of both interior and exterior architecture.

RP-TRAVELS: DAVID IN TASMANIA

David recently embarked on an adventurous, and jam-packed trip to Tasmania. Thoroughly enjoying the food festivals throughout the state, the rest of the trip was then spent hiking, exploring and appreciating the stunning natural landscapes. Pictured above is our brilliant Architect David taking in the scenery at Mt Field.

CITY OF WHITEHORSE BUILT ENVIRONMENT AWARDS – SHORTLISTED!

Rptecture Architects is thrilled to hear that our project Grain Asian Cafe and Dessert has been shortlisted within the 2017 City of Whitehorse Built Environment Awards.
Located within Box Hill Central shopping centre, the Grain Asian interior design is a charismatic representation of the cuisine; a modern take on hawker style street food and culture.

ZENITH: A CELEBRITY DESTINATION.

Having only been open for a few short months, Zenith is the cool new kid on the Tivoli Arcade block. As the exclusive Melbourne stockists for several high-end Korean, European and American brands – Zenith is quickly becoming a popular fashion destination – having already been visited by many Australian celebrities.

Rptecture Architects are thrilled to have been the fashion retail designers on this project – and as The Fashion Journal says, “… If the interior of the store is anything to go by, you’ll be cooler just having shopped there”.

10 YEARS OF SUSHI HUB

We would like to congratulate our client, Sushi Hub, on their 10 year anniversary! Rptecture Architects are extremely proud to have been the Sushi Hub retail designer for close to 20 of their stores within New South Wales and Victoria. 10 successful years within the industry is an amazing testament to the quality of the Sushi Hub people, their brand, and of course, the food!

SHUKUFUKU: AN INTERIOR FAVOURITE THE WORLD OVER

One of our favourite projects from the past year, has been Shukufuku Japanese Bento, located on Lygon Street in Carlton. As the interior designers for Shukufuku, nothing pleases us more than to know that other have been loving the design as well. This project has recently been published within the popular Korean publication “International Magazine of Space Design | bob |”. Loving it!

RP-TRAVELS: SANDRA IN EUROPE

Our amazing architectural graduate Sandra, recently travelled to Europe for her honeymoon. Congratulations Sandra! Visiting countries such as Germany, Norway, Finland, and Iceland. Chasing the northern lights, admiring the natural landscapes and seeing native animals such as moose, reindeer, moose, and whales. Pictured above is Sandra visiting the Blue Lagoon in Iceland.

RE-THINKING THE FUTURE AWARDS – WIN!

We are very pleased to announce that two of our projects have been awarded 2nd and 3rd place awards in the Re-thinking the Future Awards. Congratulations to Shukufuku Japanese Bento and Pampered Petz!

The RTF Awards are a global architectural awards event with over 30 categories. A panel of 15 esteemed judges from around the globe, choose three winners in each category, receiving thousands of entries for each category.
